Independent Study

Independent Study

The end product - What will you create?
A dissolved object using particles.

Timeline - How will you spend your time (6 hours)?

I will spend my time breaking the tutorial down into an even amount of time each day of the week until my end product is complete.

What will you learn from this activity that will make you a better interactive designer?

I will further my skills in 3D, which will be helpful in the long run next year because there are a lot of 3D projects.

Collect any tutorial links that you will need to help you complete your project.

I did not like this portfolio piece, but I did like the other three above this one.

Artist Statement

In all of the graphics or pictures that I might create I look for diversity within my works. Somebody should be able to look at six different images that were composed by me and think that different people did it. The other philosophy that I impose on my personal creations is a certain amount of complicatedness(if that's a word?). When looking at my different arts commentators should look at my artwork a couple times to understand the picture. I want my pictures to tell a story.

Will the iPad inspire a new class of computer?

Yes, I think that the iPad will inspire a new class of computer. As Mr. Fitzer always says, "Apple is very good at selling their products!" Whatever Apple puts out it sells very well, which might be the reason for other companiew to create new and similar products. I believe competitors that model computers will adopt some of the ideas that the iPad exemplifies and will base a new model of computer from that with a couple new features. The iPad is truly a revolutionary product and definitely in my opinion, will cause competitors to copy or get more creative. The iPad better turn on a light bulb for fellow computer manufacturers or Apple will continue to leave them in the dust.

1/22/10

For the first 50 minutes in IMD I worked with the video team to recreate some of the things that were going to be put on the film to make it more dramatic.

For the remainder of the IMD 2nd period I researched how the green/blue screen worked and was created. The Video Edit Magic tool is the best tool for this technique apparently. The primary image or video recording with a green screen is made and then the green screen is replaced with a still image or another video. The weatherman is a good example because he/she stands in front of a green screen while an animated video runs in place of the green screen.

I also learned that when editing the green screen out of your images or videos you need to use the Chroma Key. According to the website this tool is based from the luminance key. The luminace key is what is used to in a sense outline the image or figure in your video footage you want seperated from the green screen. The luminance key is more successfully used for putting letters on still images and not so much used for action footage. Present day chroma key tools were created so that it would be able to input RGB and the color green/blue from the screen and use it to be more efficient during filming. This advancement in technology gave the chroma key and luminance key to be able to successfully composite action type footage. Like ninja stuff that Oscar was doing or like Andrew's rap video. An interesting fact that I didn't know about the screen color is that even red screens have been used for filming! This informational site might have been opiniated by this statement, it says that the blue screen is the color that is favored because it is the color that compliments the tone of flesh.

I also watched a tutorial based video on Ae CS4 and it showed me how the Sure Target plug in worked.

For the rest of the IMD class I just worked on editing my Business Plan for Entreprenuership because I need to make it more lengthy for the judges.
